These [professional development] grants have a huge impact, especially at a time of limited budget when schools are told they have to do more with less. The grants make the staff feel they are valued and appreciated. Students also benefit as the teachers get cutting-edge knowledge.
Karen Lockard, B-CC Principal
B-CC’s identity as an academically excellent school and a welcoming environment for all students is a reflection of the community support, which the Foundation embodies. With this in mind, on behalf of the students and faculty of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, I again wish to express our appreciation for all that you do.
Katy Harvey, former B-CC Principal
The computers and audio visual teaching aids are used constantly, both during the day and after school, by guidance to help with college searches and in the evening for adult education. The school has a special computerized algebra teaching program that is getting very good results. The school could not have afforded the technology without the Foundation’s assistance.
Pete Flynn, Special Education teacher
I am so excited. . . . You all are great…a big help for social studies with updated materials etc.
Jeanne Tremonti, former Social Studies Resource Teacher
…the idea that there’s now a Foundation that supports a program which puts every kid on track to attend college, regardless of what kind of home they came from, really made me proud of my community.
Peter Zeppenfeld, Class of 1988
We are very pleased to be able to support the Foundation because the students at B-CC are our next generation of leaders and we are happy to help contribute to their success. The passion for learning and skills they acquire in high school will help to shape our future as a community.
David M. Smith, President, Chevy Chase Land Company
B-CC High School is a community asset. When we invest in the Summer Academy or other Foundation programs, we are investing in the future of all of our children. The Summer Academy is a critical way to support students in their transition to B-CC so they can make the most of the school’s tremendous resources and opportunities.
Julie Farkas, Honest Tea, Bethesda
The Town of Chevy Chase is proud to support CollegeTracks because it benefits all of us to make sure that everyone has access to a college education. We felt it was important to make a donation this year not in spite of the hard times–and related pressure on government budgets-–but because it makes this program all the more critical.
David Lublin, Mayor, Town of Chevy Chase
This program [Basic Computer Skills Class for ESOL parents] is a wonderful way to reach out to a community that we sometimes have difficulty reaching.
Tim Marshall, ESOL teacher
Thank you so very much for renewing the grant for the ESL program at the Coffield Center in partnership with Montgomery College. This will enable the class to continue in the Spring semester of 2004. It has become more popular and is now serving 40 parents of all the schools in the B-CC Cluster. It is one of the many ways we all are reaching so many of our parents and students . Thank you for the work you do to enrich the B-CC Community.
Cathie Goltz, former PTSA President
