Our B-CC Class held reunions in the Bethesda area for our 20th, 30th, 40th, 45th, 50th, and 55th years since graduation. But subsets of our loyal classmates have also desired to have reunions on a more frequent basis. We call them “Mini-Reunions”. There have been four of them. They are distinguished from the official reunions held in the Bethesda area at five or ten year intervals by: 1) being at locations away from Bethesda that offer interesting places to explore; and 2) spanning about five days, affording opportunities for participants to get to know one another (possibly better than when we were together in high school).

The first mini-reunion was held in Ouray, CO back in June of 1995. It was organized by Nancy (Wilson) & Walt Rule who live in Ouray, and Jennifer Wellborn. High in Colorado’s San Juan mountain range, Ouray provided a beautiful venue for the reunion. It spanned six days and was attended by 18 classmates plus spouses. A highlight of the itinerary was the narrow gauge train trip from Durango to Silverton along the swollen Animas River. There was a banquet with entertainment, and there were picnics in the mountains. The second mini-reunion was held in Woodstock, VT in October 1998. This was decided during the banquet at Ouray. An objective was to enjoy the autumn colors in Vermont. At that occasion Pat (Lacey) and Todd DeBinder were drafted for the task of organizing the event - because they lived not too far away in Concord, MA. Fifteen classmates, plus spouses, attended this event. We all stayed at the historic Woodstock Inn & Resort. There was a group dinner at the charming Lincoln Inn at the Covered Bridge. Following a tradition established at Ouray, there was a fine banquet at the Woodstock Inn. (See photos)

Mini-reunion number 3 took place in Sedona, AZ in early May 2002. It was organized by Ron & June (May) Wenninger, who live not so far away near Phoenix. There were 28 classmates, plus spouses; and the event spanned five days. In addition to a BBQ dinner, brunch, and a banquet; highlights included a visit to the nearby mining ghost town of Jerome, a train trip on the Verde Canyon Wilderness RR, jeep trips to archaeological ruins, dinners out, hiking, and interesting shopping for art. There was a chartered-bus trip to the Grand Canyon for most of the group. (See photos)

The fourth and most recent mini-reunion took place at Yosemite National Park in California early in June, 2007. This marked our 57th year since graduation. There were 17 classmates and nearly as many spouses. Most came all the way from east-coast homes, so the trip was not an easy one. Activities included touring the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoia trees, as well as chartered bus excursions to Glacier Point (high above Yosemite Valley) and to Yosemite Valley itself. There was dinner at the historic Wawona Inn, and a luncheon at the renowned Wawona Hotel. And following past traditions, there was a barbecue and a banquet, both at the Tenaya Lodge where the group stayed for five nights. (See photos)
